History of St Giorgis
He was born in the land of Cappadocia to the governor Anastasius and Theoubsta. When his father passed away during his childhood, he was raised by another Christian governor and trained in military arts.
He went to Beirut, where he defeated the dragon through the power of the Cross, turning the people back to the worship of God. When he reached the age of 20, he went to King Dadianos, distributed all his possessions to the poor, and openly confessed his faith in Christ.
